How the game works
You and a partner play doubles pickleball, starting at Rec Night and climbing through the Club Ladder, Local Open and Regionals to Nationals and the Pro Tour. Win brackets to earn coins and experience, level up your power, touch, speed and reflexes, buy paddles, and hire better partners.
Swipe to hit. The direction of your swipe aims the shot, its length sets the depth and its speed sets the pace: short and gentle is a dink, a quick flick is a drive, long and slow is a lob. When the ball comes to you, play slows down and a ring closes around the contact point; release your swipe as the ring closes for a Perfect hit. Swipe up to serve.
Common questions
Which rules does it follow?
Doubles pickleball as played in tournaments: underhand serves into the diagonal box, the two-bounce rule, no volleys from the kitchen (including momentum after a volley), and line calls that count a ball touching the line as in. Choose rally scoring or classic side-out scoring (starting at 0-0-2) in Settings. Matches are best of three games to 11, win by 2, by default; teams change ends between games and at 6 in the deciding game. You can also pick a single game or best of five.
What are Topspin and Slice?
Two techniques you unlock as your career grows: Topspin at level 3 and Slice at level 5. Curve your swipe to the right for topspin, which dips and kicks off the court, or to the left for slice, which skids and stays low. Straight swipes stay flat. Unlocked techniques are listed in Upgrades.
What do I get for free, and what does the Pro Pass add?
Rec Night through Regionals, the Daily Dink, upgrades, partners and the Pro Shop are free. The Pro Pass is a single one-time purchase that unlocks Nationals and the Pro Tour, the two pro paddles, and double coins from every match. There is no subscription and there are no ads.
I bought the Pro Pass and it is locked again
Open Settings and tap Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so this also works on a new iPhone. If it still does not unlock, email us.
What is the Daily Dink?
Every day there is one new match scenario, the same for every player. Win it to keep your streak going and earn bonus coins.
Where are the leaderboards?
Pickle Punks uses Game Center for three leaderboards: player rating, total titles, and Daily Dink streak. Tap Leaderboards on the home screen. If you are not signed in to Game Center, everything else plays exactly the same.
Are these real players and tournaments?
No. Every player, club and event is fictional. Generated names are checked against a list of real professional players so that no one shares a real pro's name.
My career is gone
Your career is stored on your device only, so deleting the app deletes it, and it does not move to a new phone unless your iPhone backup includes app data. We do not keep a copy.
Can I turn off sound, music or vibration?
Yes, in Settings. Effects also follow your iPhone's silent switch, and your own music keeps playing underneath the game. If you turn on Reduce Motion in iOS, the camera shake and menu animations are switched off.
The game feels slow or my iPhone gets warm
The match is fully 3D. Pickle Punks lowers its visual effects automatically when your iPhone is warm, so play stays smooth. Closing other apps and letting the phone cool down helps too.
Requirements
Pickle Punks runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later, in portrait. Everything works offline except Game Center and purchases, with no account and no sign-in.
Privacy
What the game does and does not handle is written in plain language in the Pickle Punks privacy notice.
